My wife likes to rearrange the furniture and tells me what she wants. So, after a few years of this, I decided to make a scale drawing of each room and to scale cut outs of each piece of furniture. By simply moving the cut out into the room of interest I did not have to move the furniture in order to "suggest" it would not fit or work. My wife took one look at my "toy house" and said: "let's try it anyway - I like my idea". It still did not fit even though she "like the idea"!
