I've been messing with this in several areas, including SQL-Server, Access and VFP. Given your requirements, it looks as if you might be able to use something like the FTP function of the West Wind IP Stuff package to send the data via FTP. I used this in a recent project with good results.

The really nice thing about this approach is you can stay within VFP for most of the processing so if something goes wrong you have a clue of where to look for the problems.
