Ok, in order to troubleshoot, create a separate method of this listbox (if it's a class), say, retItemList. Invoke this method from either click or when (I believe, they should work the same). Put set step on in this method and see, how it works.

How many items does your listbox have? Multiselect doesn't work well, if number of items is greater than 65.
