A couple of ideas:

1) Is your query code in, or called from, the Requery() method of the control? If not, that *might* be hindering the refresh.

2) Have you considered using the query to populate an array property of the form, and binding the control to that array? Again, the code to populate the array probably needs to be in, or called from, the Requery() method of the control.
