Jerry,

>Is it true you have to code only 4 week a year to earn a living there... or maybe it's that one can only find four weeks of the to do coding, what with all that pretty environment to investigate..... fess up... what's your work week, eh? :)

You can't imagine how timely that question is. I've been here for 4.5 years
building up my business. I have a good reputation, and business has been
great - last year was my best year ever. AND my usual work week is 7 days, too
many hours/day. I have tried to take time off for exericse and lunch during
the week, and celebrate my "weekend" on Friday nights. I ususally take a 2
month trip to the US...last year it was 2 months in the summer, and 3 weeks
at Thanksgiving time.

The cost of living here is fairly high (rents are fairly low, though, at the
moment - I pay $600 for a 1 bedroom, 1 office apartment). Since just about
everything (except for some local fruits/veggies and fish) has to be brought
in by ship, prices are high. At least there isn't much to buy ;-). Gas is
$2.17 - but at least there is not far to drive ;-).

BUT per chance, have you heard about the Asian economy? ;-) our economy is
driven by Asian tourism. soooo, things are looking pretty bleak this year.
I'll feel lucky if I earn half of what I made last year...I have a few
proposals in, but I really have no work at the moment. I'm going to have to
think about leaving here if things don't improve w/in the next year or so.

So, all is not well in Paradise...;-(.

How's biz at the Nebraska Dept of Revenue?
