Not stupid at all. I played with this thinking the same thing with no apparent difference.

While I know the "properties" are simply IN and OUT methods for C, I haven't been able to invoke those methods directly from VB or VFP. They only know the properties. If the method could be called directly, maybe passing the array by reference or the pointer created by SafeArrayCreate would work.
