Are you programmatically creating this object or adding it to a form? You porbably need to create a subclass of this control by dropping it on a form then saving that as a class. Then in your app, do a NewObject or CreateObject of that form subclass. Then you can use the MAPI control.

This same issues applies to many OCX controls including the progress bar.
