There is a big difference between forcing a standard on a corporate intranet because of technical issues with data entry and forcing paying customers of an internet website to deal with a dificult interface to avoid interfering with your vision of how the page should be viewed.

>You may construe this as being ‘rude” but there are times when such action is necessary for the success of a project. Management at our corporation was very happy when I implemented this concept for a major web application I created and is using it for other web applications. Otherwise, we had some very serious problems with text of labels and combo boxes, etc. Instead of having absolute positioning of each object (we are using complex data entry forms with up to 100 fields on a form, and over 50 forms), if the user changed the font size at the system or browser, objects were all over the page, wrapped, and in general very ugly.

A compromise was reached and users were asked what they liked and this is what I used. So far no complaints about fonts being too small - which is not desired - who needs eye strain? Should that be a problem in the future I have to go to one INCLUDE file to make the change for the entire application.
