There is a big difference between forcing a standard on a corporate intranet because of technical issues with data entry and forcing paying customers of an internet website to deal with a dificult interface to avoid interfering with your vision of how the page should be viewed.

Management at our corporation was very happy when I implemented this concept for a major web application I created and is using it for other web applications. Otherwise, we had some very serious problems with text of labels and combo boxes, etc. Instead of having absolute positioning of each object (we are using complex data entry forms with up to 100 fields on a form, and over 50 forms), if the user changed the font size at the system or browser, objects were all over the page, wrapped, and in general very ugly.
