In Nebraska, with so many city AND rural farm lights, plus agricultural dust, anything like a green flash, or the Milky Way is almost never visible. The number of good seeing days are limited to right after strong rain storms or to NW Nebraska. I have a Mead LX200 but I rarely take it out because the viewing is not worth it. I contemplated CCD attachments but found more fun playing with astronomy programs like XEphem (A Linux freebie!:).
