As a W2, they may pay for that. I'll ask to be sure. Either way, I think I'm going to try to push the rate up closer towards the low end of an independent.

Franklin is just south of Nashville, which is where this contract job is located. Nashville is not a high-tech area per se, but there are a lot of businesses here. Unfortunately, VFP is not in as high demand here as the job boards make it appear. I've been presented only with short-term contract work. The recruiter said that VB/SQL/ASP are the desired skills here. Looks like I'll have to get those on my resume to build more security.
