>That is why I used pixel (px) rather than font point size (pt). The pixel size remains a constant while point size is not (system settings, etc.) I thought my example would be useful to you even if others thought it was "rude" to control shall we say “browser experiences”?. I thought you were trying to solve a problem and you did it!

It took me a while to figure out that px was used in your sample than pt. I looked several times and I thought it was pt. <s>

IAC, I only use it here for the toolbar layout. I don't use it any other places.

>I guess some of us are terrible - forcing users to have a stable application rather than having the ability to "shoot themselves in the foot". Sometimes the programmer must take control of the application and not allow the user to do something that will cause a technical problem. One thing about programming - you cannot be all things to all people - but that is a common expectation.

Well, it's also an interpretation. The word "forcing" has been used here recently by a few members. Basically, we say that we support that and that. We never say that someone has to use a specific browser to go on UT. We support X amount of things. It's up to the user to decide to use what is supported or not.

I also found that whenever you do a change in an application, this is where many users will come up with a lot of suggestions in regards to the recent changes or any other changes they might have in mind since a while. In this recent change, we found that some of them have been solved as soon as the user cleared the cache. Those are the ones that were difficult to resolve. We thought the problem was here. At the end, it turned out to be that the problem was related to a corruption of the cache.

It also took us also some additional time to solve some situations based on term interpretation. On one end, a term was used to represent a specific situation where as soon as we understood what the request was all about, the problem was rapidly solved.

On this short history, we also found that a lot of users were not aware of virtual mode. A lot of them have turned that option on and they are quite happy about that.

Another situation was related a confusion between Chatter category and Chatter forum.

We also found that some other browsers are quite impressive as to supporting all the recent styles we are using. I received some snapshots from users to show their layout and I was impressed to see that other browsers are displaying the layout as is quite perfectly.

In all that, one of the interesting enhancement, and firstly proposed by a member since we released that option, was to assign the users online icon to its numbers. We did it yesterday and it's more user friendly now.
