We have an instance of SQL Server 2000 named "REPORTS" and it was setup as a publisher for replication to the server instance "M_FILE2". "M_FILE2" is configured as the distributor to minimize the overhead on "REPORTS". It had been working now for 3 months. Well, last night we had to rename our servers ( ? why ? good question ). "REPORTS" is now "FILE1" and "M_FILE2" is "FILE2". When we try to create a new replication (publisher) we get an error 18482: "Cannot connect to FILE1 because REPORTS is not defined as a remote server." "REPORTS" is no longer the servers name. There is no entry under remote servers for "REPORTS". We cannot get the name to be released by SQL. In the system table sysservers we found an entry for "REPORTS" which should not be there as it was renamed. SQL will not let me delete it because it has a foreign key constraint against it. Where can I find the remote server entries in the system tables?

Thanks for any help?
