Thanks daniel but the problem is I want to do it for all backends not just SQL Server.

VFP
SQL Server
Oracle
MSAccess
DB2
Oracle Lite DB
ect...

The problems is the properties on the connection are different for each backend and I need a common property or method to determine if I should use the stored procedure or SQL.

I guess I can just build a case statement on the various provider's but a common property would be cleaner. If I ever decide to support a new system.
