>I'll actually be in the states for about 8 weeks...I feel a bit guilty, tho, business has been SOOOO bad this year...and I've been taking time to attend to some personal things going on...but I'm going to take the additional time off, I decided (to see family and friends and films and restaurants and grocery stores, etc.).
Sounds like fun! If you make it to Atlanta give me a holler (as we say around here).

>This is the first conference that has been offered on the right coast at the right time for me to attend - finally! I was really disapointed that I didn't get to New Orleans
That was far and away the most decadent DevCon ever. For most I think that less learning seeped through the fun and there's a movement afoot to have the Spring DevCon in NO on a regular basis. ;}
>Looking forward to a good mix...and some inspiration, etc. It's hard, at times, to work in a place like this - the UT really helps - where there really isn't anyone to be a mentor (I do mentor someone here, and that's interesting and stimulating, but not quite the same as being able to learn a lot from someone else).
Obviously there needs to be some give and take. You can't just give all the time. One needs to be refueled. And online relationships are not as fulfilling as live interactions. 'Tis true. I'm sure too that there are not more than a few thousand people on that island, so relationships, personal and professional, are limited. At least you've got someone to teach.
Do you plan on remaining there for the rest of your life? Do you envision yourself coming back to the good ol' US of A? Should we take this discussion out of the public eye?
