I, too, keep pictures as JPG-files: a general field takes about 20 times more disk space! A simple test can confirm this, although the exact ratio may vary, depending on the quality of the JPG-file. Try it and see!
In my application, then, the VFP-database only has a small field for the
filename of the JPG-image.
I didn't try this yet, but I think that for reporting purposes, you should copy the JPG-files into temporary General fields. This would allow you to use Visual FoxPro reports, with several records with graphics. Often, you create temporary files anyway, for reporting purposes.
