Now that would make me really mad. Watch a movie for 2+ hours just to see him die. But how could he go through such an incredibly life-altering event for so long and not mention anything about it once to his friends. He tells his best friend that he's sorry he wasn't there for him when his wife died and there's no mention that it's not his fault. He never tells Helen Hunt that her picture sustained him and gave him hope over all those years.

They must have lobotomized during his recovery period. I don't get it.
