>I had a great Father's Day. I received a new set of golf clubs. My wife and kids felt that 14 years with the old set was enough. For the day I just sat in my chair and watched the Cubs win another game. Ah! the peace and quiet of rural America.

I received calls from relatives wishing me Happy Father’s Day – including my mom who is 86 and sharp as a tack. Our son, daughter and my wife gave me a great day. Lots of love and recognition from my family, which makes life enjoyable. After attending church we had a very enjoyable time in San Francisco, went to a Kurdish restaurant for lunch, and had a great dinner at home.

My wife actually got me to go shopping with her, for myself. Getting me to go shopping is no easy task! I ended up with several pairs of shoes, and shirts. When you are 6'7" it is not easy to find anything that fits. For fun I received two flamenco guitar books with CD’s. Spent a part of the weekend composing and playing flamenco music.

I have not seen or heard from my father in fifty years. I prayed he was well and happy. He left when I was 8 and my brother was 6. Glad God has allowed me to raise my family and have been happily married for 35 great years. There is nothing more important to me than my family.
