A true democracy is just an ideal, it will never exist. Within a democracy, there will always be someone/some group who make the decision & more often than not it is the view of a significant minority that prevails & that can always be rigged by the way the question is asked.
Besides, in my democracy, everyone does have an equal say, it's just that some of us are more equal than others.
