I would like to create a inlist() search string on the fly. In my attempts, I have been unsuccessful. For example:

ctemp = 'V'
cstring = "'V','X'"

if inlist(ctemp,cstring)
? "SUCCESSFUL"
else
? "FAILED"
endif

This code runs without error but always returns false. Can anyone help.
