>I don't enjoy movies that are billed as "true life" and then cheapen up the effects. I've heard comments from several people that the computer animation looks just that. In this type of movie, if I see an explosion, I want it to be believable. Same reasoning why I never saw Gladiator. I looked at the trailers and said "that tiger looks computer generated"... and it turns out it was.

Yeah, the Gladiator effects were a bit muddy. The opening scence of the Roman legion battling the German barbarians is worth the rental cost.

Personally, I found the effects in Pearl Harbor believable. The sinking of the Arizona was a stunning logistical execution.

But to each his own. :-)
