Have you got a filter on "NOT DELETED()" on view2 ?
Have you requeried view 1 following the tableupdate() ?

Without the filter I get the same effect as you are seeing (I added an additional field to the views to display deleted()).
The record also remains as deleted on view1 until a requery is done.

Sorry to keep going over the obvious, but it's one of my "best practices", always assume I am doing something wrong or that I don't understand that what is happening is correct.
