We have a similar situation at one client site. Opening tables that are within the .dbc is extremely slow, while opening any free table is immediate.

They have workstations connected to a Windows 2K Server via a token ring LAN connection, and also from a remote office via a T1 connection. It is noticeably slow on both connections, but is agonizingly slow on the T1 connection.

This slowness appeared when we converted them from a FPD 2.6 version of the application to a VFP 6.0 SP4 version. In other words, this same network configuration worked fine with the Foxpro 2.6 Dos product, but with VFP it grinds to a halt.

Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.
