Well, I would probably tend to agree with you just based on what I've seen from MS classes. Although, there is a company here who offers a 12 week (2 nights/week) Oracle class for $3000. Yes, I think that is a lot for someone paying out-of-pocket, but compared to the 2-day MS courses I paid for at $1500 a pop, it sounds like a good deal.

Of course, I'll definitely be more inclined to spend $150 on books to try and learn the basics by playing with the software myself. That's pretty much what I do with everything else. The trouble comes when the prospective clients/employers want to see that little piece of paper saying that you spent $10,000 and passed all the cert tests.
