>>Has anyone retained the gotcha's list for running development versions of both VFP 5 and 6 on the same system? I had thought I was past all that, and of course, someone comes out of the wall with a pre-existing app... You can see where this is headed.

If that is not a viable option, 5 and 6 co-exist without any gotchas that I know of as long as you do not mix the 2 versions while you develop. You also have to dumb-down < g > your knowledge of commands and functions so you do not use a V6 feature that is not in V5.

Well, suffice it to say that there are 'internal requirements' for this client that they want to remain on 5.0 for now. I have not ferreted out if they got bit by a migration in the past or what the real issue is, just that when I brought it (with 7.0 on the way), they made it clear in no uncertain terms they did not want to migrate / upgrade. Since everything else I am working on is 6.0, I did not want to corrupt my development environment.

I had some notes down about date compatibility in code b/w 5 and 6, but I have not run into it so far, and the notes were not complete, so I will most likely discover that one the hard way (again).

Thanks for the response.
