Thanks for inquiring but I found the problem. When setting up the ODBC in the System DSN I found that there are two drivers for VFP one is "Microsoft FoxPro VFP Driver" which doesn't work. The other is "Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver" which does work. I setup the former.... not looking all the way through the list of drivers (the later is near the bottom). That's what I get for being incomplete. I don't even have to specify the folder that the data is in... pretty cool.
