the scenario is a little more complex then I exposed.
First of all both forms use the Default Data Session.
The grid RecordSource is a parameterized local view that I requery every time the parameters change (I check this in the main form's Refresh).
In the main form Init method I set a relation (in code) between the local view (parent) and an alias (child) for a table opened several times in the main form's Data Environment (with different alias).
The second form is a modal form that has no cursor in its DE and doesn't use that cursors (nor move their record pointers).

I already ended up with including the necessary information in the local view itself, so I have a single grid RecordSource.

I was just wondering what happens in VFP grid backgrounds in such a situation.
