Hi!
>2. Scandisk isn't able to read NTFS. Don,t know how or what it did
I don't know too. Anyway, it did read it and spoiled it.
>3. Yes. But you terminated it, so no.
I did figured out this by self - AutoScan=0.
>4.Check out MSKB Article Q217210 at support.microsoft.com this is the best way to setup Multi-boot
Thanks for the article, but it explains how to install. I need to configure because I already have installed W98. In the article also I see that it is for logical drives on the same HDD. I need to run 2 different systems (W2K and W98) from 2 different hard drives. Any suggestions?
I see following information in the boot.ini file:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\NTWS40
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\NTWS40="Windows NT Workstation Version 4.00"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\NTWS40="Windows NT Workstation Version 4.00 [VGA mode]" /basevideo /sos
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
That defines 2 systems (NT and W95). I tried to edit this file on my machine and add the same entries but specify something like "multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(1)partition(1)..." to try to start something from another HDD, but no luck. Should I edit something in another place in addition to the entries in boot.ini?

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs
It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
