Good points.
I own a 10" Meade LX-200 and used to do a lot of observing, but haven't done much since I retired my business because my sleep pattern is now not flexible enough, except on Firday nites.
I was working with a software app that would alloww my computer to move the scope in jumps so that I could track satellites. My present software is called XEphem and runs on Linux. It can be set to track most bodies, as long as the two-element lines are accurate.
