>>>
>>>Probably not, Bill. The people we'll be staying with live on a huge farm in Libertyville and sometimes do their own firework displays. Besides, if memory serves, is that the week of "Taste of Chicago"? My wife and I got hung up the traffic at midnight one day at that event. Bumper-to-bumper at midnight? No thanks, did that once, don't want to do it again.:-)
>>
>>I understand! Yes, the Taste is that same week. That's why we haven't gone since the kids were born, 10 years ago. We take the train in though, so traffic isn't quite so bad.
>
>Yeah, I don't know what the train schedules are like from Libertyville to downtown. The walk, however, if memory serves would be from the lakefront to Union Station which is two blocks past Wells St (can't remember the street name off hand even though I used to walk from there for years). Not bad, but it would depend a lot on where on the lakefront you were. I don't think that my wife would be up for it regardless.
The train schedule can be found at
http://www.metrarail.com/The walk is about a mile to a good view.
Convicing your wife is another matter. <VBG>
Well, I'm off! Talk to you all in July!
