>>hehe...as a matter of fact, I have. I have a couple of Force apps still out there. This evening I am making mods to one of them; I hope to port the app to VFP this summer.

>Geeze.. And here I thought I was one of the only ones around here who had used it - but to find someone still using it.. Amazing. What version are you using? I don't even think I could find my Force disks anymore...

version 2.4e, build date 5/11/95.

>>Force is *incredibly* fast. I have wondered if anybody around here has ever used it, I don't even know where to go if I were to need any help with it. I am usually able to work around any issues that I have.

>Incredibly fast isn't the word. I have never seen anything faster. You just cannot do some of the 'trick' stugg but as I said, if you don[t need it then why not. Well, that and it's still a DOS application.

Yes, it certainly has its drawbacks being in DOS. Linking to C is a nice feature, but I was always able to write what I needed to do directly in Force. I hope to not have to deal with it after this year...just need to move those apps over. No SQL statements has got to be the biggest beating...it can take 100 or more lines to do create a report---you could do the same in VFP with one SELECT statement and the report generator in a fraction of the time.
