Mark,

>>Exactly... That ought to take care of the nxt 4-5 years, don't you think? <g>
>>
>>I wonder how long it's going to take until someone says that because MFT has committed to Version 8 that that means that that is the last version they will do... <g>
>>
>>Some people wouldn't take a gold brick if you tried to give it to then, they're so negative... I'm sure glad I don't live my life that way! <g>

>Me either. I also do not understand the rationale of whether MS kills the product or not. Heck, if MS killed VFP today, I could still go on using the product as is for years until it became technologically obsolete. In the mean time, I could learn another language.

Right, and this is what I find odd in so many of the replies I've gotten. It's as though people actually believe that their successes depend upon the good graces of other people as opposed to their own hard work! Cripes, I suppose if I actually thought my successes or failures were due to someone else I'd live a fear-filled life too. I do not and I do not. <g>

At least 2-3 years worth of time to learn something new.

>I just did a Satellite Forms app for Palm pilots. Talk about a different world. While it works quite well, the techniques I had to employ are quite rudimentary compared to VFP. The mental key is to always think minimalistically. For some of us, that ain't too difficult which is why I was successful at it. < bg >

Yeah.. We have successfully ported a small portion of our app to the Windows CE platform. Very cool and very Basic. <g>
Best,
