Start a new form. Put a base class grid with no columns on the form. Enter the number of columns that you desire. Click on the properties sheet, click on Text1. Click on the form's title bar to make it the active window, press the Delete key and Text1 will be deleted. Remove all instances of Text1 that way.
Click on Column1, click the form's title bar and then drag the control that you want for the column onto Column1. Repeat this until you have all the controls in place for all of your columns. Click File from the menu, select Save As Class... You now have a custom grid class subclassed from another grid.
