Not that I know of. The problem is your system admins probably do not allow access to the OS level of the server. Our Oracle is on NT servers. If I go to the server where these datafiles are on [I can at least see the server in Explorer], I am prompted for a password before access is granted.

Maybe someone else here can tell you haw to derive the machine info for an NT server if that is the case for your server.

I tried poking through the views listed in SYS.DBA_VIEWS to see if something jumps out at me. I just did a query on that view for all records where View_Name is LIKE 'DBA%' and ordered the results by the view name.
