If you have email working on SQL Server there is a way to set up the server so that if you send an email to the SQL Server account and the body of the message contains a valid SQL statement, it will return and email with the result set. Now, the result set would be "text" so this might not be what you are looking for.

http://10.0.0.1/ServerFolder/FileName.DBF? Is this possible to do using SQL Server?
