>Alex, I'm certainly not a big player in the market, but these technology based companies that were doing so well not too long ago are kill me. So, I'm going to stay put and just work on my 401K and IRA. :)

Dean;

.COM did a lot of damage to many segments of our economy. Looking at office space in San Francisco going at $49 a square foot two years ago and .COM driving it up to $179, now it is coming down again. Sick! One bed room apartments still go for $2800 a month.

Stories about .COM'ers are in the news out here in the Bay Area. Stories about guys that worked 110 to 120 hours a week, were used to sleeping on the floor of their workspace made over $100k a year and had stock options "worth millions", who are now living in homeless shelters. Now they owe the IRS huge amounts of money they do not have.

I tried telling people who I know to stay away from .COM companies - get a real job! Tried to get them to understand - were there many .COM companies five years ago? What about five years from now? One programmer I know worked for four .COM companies in one year - each of them had gone belly up. He is on his fifth one now.

Other tv reports from our area indicate it is "normal" to work for only two or three months at a time as a .COM'er. Now, how do you get a 401k working like that?

Tom
