>I've decided to begin working on MCSD certification, following the VFP path. I'd appreciate any words of wisdom from anyone who's already made the leap.
Certification is a great learning experience. For me, it help to expose weak areas in my VFP knowledge. I found the elective (in my case the VB Desktop) the hardest exam to write since I was more learning than just brushing up. The 70-100... I didn't find difficult but you _must_ download a sample exam from Trancender or Microsoft site so that you can become familiar with the testing otherwise you may not pass.
>Any opinions on Hentzenwerke's Visual FoxPro Certification Exams Study Guide? Reccommendations on other books / guides?
The wiki has the logs from the fall/winter 99 study groups. That should prove helpful. The MSDN is a great resource. If you are unsure about the book, try downloading the sample chapters from Hentzenwerke's site.
I found that participating in an exam study group was very motivating. I think we pushed through both exams in 2 or 2.5 months? You might want to consider starting one. For the 70-100 and VB Desktop exams, the study groups were very small but still worked.
