I'm basically with you on that issue, but I have found the Hacker's Guide to be the sole exception to date. It's the only .CHM I've found that doesn't have me mousing/clicking inopportunely and causing me to forget where I came from and what I was originally after.

I have a good quality printer and spend lots on cartridges/paper, just because of that tendancy.
