Frankly, I don't get either.

First it was "marketing"; now we cannot even suggest improvements that have seen the test of time on other platforms, and that may even make VFP more "main-stream".

I don't know where this VCX "performance" thing comes from either ... it certainly isn't at run time. For an equivalent "large" class, a PRG will instantiate up to 2x faster than a VCX (which still has to be parsed by VFP to derive the object hierarchy ... it's only the method code that gets compiled).

Perhaps VCX's are required to maintain some sort of VFP "mystique" ... whatever that is.

Reminds me of someone who is using VFP but is being forced to use FPW techniques because the project manager doesn't trust the new features.
