First, IMHO (and its only MO) the focus rectangle is there for a purpose!

However, you can remove it by putting a NODEFAULT in the GotFocus() method. This has side-effects, when you click the button you don't get any visual feedback/animation that would indicate the button is being pressed but the Click() does fire.

It's probably better to construct a composite object that behaves like a button but this seems like an awful waste of time just to lose the focus rectangle (again MO)?

At this point in time I don't have a better solution for you, sorry? However it may be neat to get owner-drawn control functionality in VFP8 :-)
