>I don't agree with your strategy here.
>The PUTM's have a fast method of access to any messages they search for just using back and forward with the hyperlinks they search for.
>For the BUTM's it's a pain in the ass to go through all the messages returned by the search results.. if I could get my company to pay for PUTM membership I would (they won't pay for any VFP subscription.. Foxpro Advisor, VFUG....I buy my own books etc.)

>In this particular case.. I remembered a thread I participated in a few months ago which was the solution to a question asked today.. but I can't find it because I can't search for it.
>The only people who can search for and maybe find past solutions are now PUTM's.. This then gives them a big advantage in terms of anwering questions.. so they can in theory answer more questions and earn more points. I believe you are reducing the number of "helpers" on UT by blocking this (albeit difficult)search ability.
I guess my English is not as good as it used to be. I'll try again.
Since you've been using the search, and my log shows that it was always as a non PUTM member, did you always see a big rectangle at the top which says "You have access a benefit of the PUTM..." or something similar to that as the message indicated in it? That message was also stating why no link was effective. The search feature has also always been promoted to PUTM members only. If that option would have been designed for all members, that message would have never shown up in there.
So, basically, instead of making the search disable, we always made it enable just to give an idea to the user the search result speed as well as its content so they know a little bit more about it before upgrading. So, we can see it as an option which shouldn't work at all for non PUTM members.
There's nothing to add here. It has always been clear that not all options are available to all members. This is why we have a PUTM. This is also why you are able to see this message today and work on UT on a daily basis as it's not a gift coming from the sky.
