What luxury! While we also have separate TS for indexes it is on same disk usually. Plus our DBA made it too small for practical use, so we have to use app TS for indexes. Unfortunately, he won't fix this. :(
>Yes I always also build a new tablespace for each app (maybe more than one in cases.) I also build a separate index tablespace. If you do heavy sorting you may want a separate temp tablespace. It is also nice if you have the ability to place the tablespace on a dedicated disk. On a one disk system you wont get much performance increase but if you have several disks or arrays this is how you get good performance.
