>My primary intent was simply to bring attention to the tone of the messages, not necessarily whether I agreed or not. But, since I did say that I thought that the majority would likely agree with George, I owe you on that. We're talking about foxpro developers who have done things within the Foxpro envirionment as it has existed for many years, I would expect there to be more support for that than for an entirely different foundation. I never said, or implied, that I personally felt one way or another about it; just that I thought the majority would agree with George. It's simply an opinion. Again, my primary intent was that I find the sarcasm and harsh tone unnecessary to debating and discussing a topic. Takes away more than it adds.

Sorry, Renoir ... but it only unconsidered comments that (might) "set me off".

So you're saying that the majority prefers to maintain the status quo ?

Adding a feature like "2-way" is NOT an entirely different foundation. It's simply an "option" that you can choose to use or not.

EVERYBODY who has tried it, likes it. Is that a majority ?

Or is it still a minority because the majority of VFP programmers have not tried it ?

Can I not say that since the majority of the minority that have tried it, liked it, the majority that have not tried it will therefore like it ?

Frankly, I think it's irresponsible (as professionals) to say that the "majority thinks this or that" without having any facts to back it up, and then take oneself off the hook by saying it's "just an opinion". It the final analysis, it winds up being a comment that would have been better left unsaid; sort of like: "the majority thinks the sun will not rise tommorrow ... in my opinion".
