Well your suggestions work...kind of.

The system will now allow me to open the file dialog box on the first try and save the report to disk. However, it will not display it in IE. I have to open acrobat reader to view it from the hard drive. That's not all bad, but I still want to get it to display in IE the first time.

I'll keep digging. You pointed me in the right direction.
