Builders are available, but not required to use the classes. Although, they do save a lot of time building forms. I believe VFE has a similar philosophy in regard to builders. I've only used the latest version of ProMatrix, but I understand it is more object-oriented than previous versions. It certainly does have a certain methodology to follow, so I can see why it may not be the right fit for everyone. Anyway, just an FYI.
