You may need to take a look at the application itself and the box the program is running on. If you have more than one person hitting it (I assume pcAw does that), realize that each user gets a virtual session - therefore your box needs a lot of RAM and a fast processor.

I used pcAnywhere extensively at my previous employer to troubleshoot client sites. We used 33.6 modems (both sides) and had reasonably good throughput.

Another alternative is to share the terminal server or pcAnywhere box on the internet on a DSL, ISDN, T1, etc. Then get the satellite sites to upgrade to something a little faster. A lot of people don't realize how reasonably priced broadband is until the see what time it takes for people to do their jobs.

Our office has DSL for $79.95/month - the speeds compare with a T1. If you consider a dialup account fee ($20/month) and a dedicated line ($40/month), it really does not make sense to go broadband.
