Are you sure that a problem is with your program not a network?
As I could remember on Novell network you are actually printing to a print queue
that is serviced by a print server that could be connected to more than one printer.

In diagnostic mode, my program will tell me without fail that it thinks it is about to print to the network printer. Then it proceeds to print, unpredictably, either to that network printer or to the server's default printer. This is true for 3 different programs.
