Hi!

You cannot change the server codepage. Our guys managed to do it once with some hacking or something like that, but than it is not available second time. Strange. Try to post this at MS site or at the www.tek-tips.com in the SQL forum. However, here we did not solved this problem despite our best effort of our SQL team, only solution we know is create script, copy data by BCP, than do backward operation after reinstall of the server with another codepage.

I like the idea with replication, however I do not know if this will work - had no chanse to try it...

>>As far as I know, this is a big problem. I know only one way to transfer this - generate SQL script for database, then copy all data by using BCP, then re-create database structure using scrip on another server with another codepage, then copy data to new server by BCP utility. Tremendous.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
