I know there are tons of these... because of it I don't update my system as often as I should.

I've had a really annoying problem when clicking on things (most particularly the 'expand/contract' box in Explorer and d-clicking on the "Close" box of IE (second instance, 5.5) - it's like an extra click is performed, causing a 'contract' to re-expand (also moving the list, of course) and a d-click to close IE causes the "File" menu of the underlying IE instance to expand.

I finally decided that enough was enough. Went to the MS Windows Support site (Win98) and eventually found the latest driver for the mouse (Intellimouse Explorer). Downloaded and installed it, rebooting as required.

Later I went to check e-mail. Up came the dial-up dialogue, which I haven't used in over a year because I have DSL installed. Clicked "Cancel" and mail proceeded normally.

Yet later I started up IE. Up came the dial-up dialogue again!!!

Went into IE menu-->Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections [tab} and found that "Always dial in" was NOW selected! Changed to "never dial in" and all is now back as it was.

A small thing, but a real pain in the *ss!

One can only hope that XP really will fix up this kind of crap! And the large fonts issue too
