>>The problem is that he didn't open up Foxpro - he ran an application. If I create an application in VC++ (& most other languages) & run the application, I don't get the development environment window open up too. Also, unlike Word & Excel in your example, if I close the main form, the Foxpro window disappears - if I close all the documents in Word & Excel the enclosing window, as you yourself state, does not disappear.

>>You are used to the quirky nature of Foxpro, which is NOT similar to the majority of Windows development tools & definitely unlike Word & Excel. You obviously know that you specifically have to hide the main Foxpro window, others do not. Your sarcastic response was completely uncalled for.

>When you run a VFP app in runtime, you do NOT get the development environment window. You get the VFP _SCREEN. It is perfectly acceptable to have this window up and running in an application. What Fox does is EXACTLY like Word and Excel and many other Windows applications. Windows even has a name for it. It's called the "Application Background".
The problem was that the person concerned did not want the "Application Background" displayed, & asked the perfectly valid & often asked question of how to remove it. The person concerned obviously did not know that this was how Foxpro works. You knew perfectly well what the persons problem was & decided to make an arrogant, sarcastic reply, which was completely uncalled for.
