A few things...
Why is there no PK for the notes table? Or, are you manufacturing a de facto key through multiple columns?
My suggestion is to create a test table in notes with a PK so that you could use a remote view to see if the updates will work. If the updates do work, then I suggest checking other sources to see if there are any known problems with Notes and OLE/DB.
Other than that, I am tapped out as far as suggestions go...
